1. It's the only thing that pleases God
Hebrews 11:5
By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not
experience death: “He could not be found, because God had taken him away.” For
before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God.
It is not possible to please God without faith. If you want to
please God take Him at His word like Enoch.
2. It allows God to pour out His blessing
It doesn't mean God is angry at us
without faith, but it's because He takes pleasure in blessing us that He wants
us to have it. Lack of faith puts a clog on blessings that God wants to pour on us.
3. It is real and measurable
Faith is
quantifiable; it is a substance.
Hebrews
11:1
Now faith
is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
4. It gives us character
Increasing
faith gives us character and spiritual form. We become something that God
respects. God is a
respecter of faith not of people (Acts
10:34). For us to have identity with God or faith must be big in the same
way with more faith we start to know God and his identity.
5. It is our spiritual currency
Faith is the
great connecter between us and God it is our currency. It is all we have to give. What we get in return is everything! We are to propagate that currency and make it the "hard currency" of the world.
6. You can pray to have more faith
You can
pray for faith just like you can pray that you have abundant riches. Faith is a
resource so you can pray for it.
Our role as
believers is to pray the prayer of faith and follow its course.
Mark
11:23-24
[23] For
verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou
removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but
shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall
have whatsoever he saith. [24] Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye
desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them , and ye shall have them .
7. God allows as much as you allow
When you
are a believer, "God allows what you allow." Craig Field, Promise of Life.
Matthew
16:19 AMP
I will give
you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind (declare to be
improper and unlawful) on earth must be what is already bound in heaven; and
whatever you loose (declare lawful) on earth must be what is already loosed in
heaven.
8. It's takes faith to give.
Giving is not a loss to the believer because when he separates
himself from his money he is sowing seed which will yield substantially more
gain.
9. Faith does not create anything
Faith does
not heal or prosper anyone. Faith is the vehicle where grace flows through to
bring abundance. (Nancy Dufresne)
This is
right because anything good comes from the Lord. He can get some to us but
mostly, the quality blessing, which will yield more blessing, comes only
through faith. We receive, by faih not only the provision for our needs but the
provision for use in God’s own plans. In
other words, God gives us, through our faith, the very means for us to abide in
Him.
10. Faith has a cost
Faith,
which we cannot see, has more value than those things in the world we are enamoured
with; distractions, flesh, sin etc.
So
strengthening the faith has a price. which is giving up our worldly inclinations, our habits,
our comfort, offence, our negative emotions.
Luke 14:28-30
[28] For which of you, intending to build a tower,
sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to
finish it? [29] Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not
able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him, [30] Saying, This
man began to build, and was not able to finish.
Although Jesus
was speaking of the cost of discipleship we can still apply the principle that things
that are worthy have a cost. We must be willing to pay this if we want our
faith to be useful and keep the flow unhindered.
